Condor SS Soil Stabilizer was injected around the perimeter of the foundation in Truckee, Ca to control the movement of soil in a zone from finish grade down to 6'. The product exchanges ions with the existing clay soil preventing the attraction between water and clay reducing movement of the treated soils. This is a very economical way to prevent or reduce structural damage to structures on Clay Soils.

Innsbrook Village apartments was an interesting project. The complex consisted of 32 balloon framed two story apartment units with slab on grade foundations. At the time the apartments were constructed in the 1970's there was a significant gravel pit immediately to the east. The gravel pit continuously pumped water out of the pit to keep the area accessible to mining. The Truckee Meadows flood of 1997 completely flooded the pit and destroyed all of the equipment. At that time the owners determined it would not be viable to restart a sand and gravel operation, the City of Sparks took ownership and today it is the Sparks Marina one of largest urban lakes in the area. The consequence of this for Innbrook Village was that water tables in the area rose substantially and the foundations began to experience structural distress. The owners of the complex explored a range of repair options and strongly considered complete demolition. All 32 units were repaired using Helical Piers. The foundations were underpinned and releveled and the units were remodeled. This was an extensive project lasting over a year but the real success was that the units were able to be repaired for about the same cost as the demolition.
Northstar had a requirement for a very stable foundation underneath a new Gondola that was being installed. The soils at the location had been disturbed by prior construction and there was significant changes in moisture water table at the site seasonally. Additionally the heavy load of the Gondola and constant vibration meant that the foundation could not tolerate settlement. The solution was the installation of helical piers in the base of the foundation to assure all loads were transfered stable soils
