Foundation Repair Brookfield Drive Reno NV
This Brookfield drive house was experiencing structural distress due to differential movement caused by expansive clay soils. Madole Construction Co. Inc proposed correcting this problem by underpinning the existing foundation with Helical Piers. Helical piers were installed to a depth of 14-17 feet below existing grade. The soils will also be treated with Condor soil stabilizer to a depth of 6' to limit expansion of the clay soils in the active zone. The owner also requested that a basement be installed on the north side of the crawlspace. I will update this post as progress continues.
Update 2/18/15
Once the underpinning was complete and the house was supported on the helical piers the basement could be excavated safely. The area was excavated and high strength shotcrete mixture was applied without needing to set forms.
